Details, formula, and sources
Normalized by the sum of weights for a partially-complete term.
category% = earned/possible*100; overall = sum(category% * weight) / sum(weight). Letter bands A >= 90, B >= 80, C >= 70, D >= 60.
Pure weighted-mean arithmetic; standard US letter bands, by name; the instructor's gradebook governs.
Pure public algebra; bands vary by school.
