Divides a wall into whole siding courses so the top course lands full, not a sliver.

Details, formula, and sources
The layout half siding-takeoff defers: divide the wall into WHOLE courses and shrink the exposure evenly so the top course lands full instead of a sliver. A 9-ft wall at a 7-in target takes 16 courses at 6.75 in - and would otherwise end in a 3-in strip at the frieze. Checks the exposure ceiling (board height minus the manufacturer's minimum headlap) and notes that shrinking exposure only ever increases the lap. Starter and per-course LF included; squares and material are siding-takeoff.
